BOWMANVILLE, Ontario — Austin Cindric dominated in scoring his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series stage win of the season on Sunday, leading every one of the first 20 laps in the Chevrolet Silverado 250 from the pole.

Cindric got a tremendous launch off the initial green flag and had the top spot secured by the time the field hit Turn 1 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, never looking back despite pressure at times from fellow young gun Kaz Grala.

The son of Team Penske president Tim Cindric took the green-checkers .564 of a second in front of Grala.

“I got some pretty tough competitors (in the field),” said Cindric. “I think Kaz is going to keep me honest in this race; I’m sure we’ll see that 24 (Justin Haley) again, too … so between strategies and what’s going to go on here with the stage racing, it might be pretty interesting before the end of it.”

The only major shuffle in the top five happened by the time the field reached Turn 5 on the first lap, with Haley fading from second to fifth after starting on the front row.

Christopher Bell crossed the line third after 20 laps, followed by defending race winner John Hunter Nemechek and Haley.

Noah Gragson, Ryan Truex, Parker Kligerman, Todd Gilliland and Ben Rhodes completed the points scoring drivers in the top 10 at the first stage break.
