KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Former Must See Racing Supermodified Series champion Kyle Edwards proved Sunday that he has taken quite nicely to the comforts of a winged 410ci sprint car.
Edwards shot to the top of the board and recorded the fastest lap of the day at Kalamazoo Speedway during final practice for the Must See Racing Sprint Car Series presented by Engine Pro, clicking off a time of 11.106 seconds (121.556 mph) in his No. 11 Level Performance-sponsored mount.
Defending series champion and opening practice leader Jimmy McCune was second in the final round, timing in at 11.159 seconds (120.979 mph) in the No. 88 Abe’s Auto Parts & Sales/B&B Machinery Movers entry, followed by Canadian Ryan Litt in third (11.244/120.064).
Former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Bobby Santos (11.248/120.021) and Michigan native Ryan Gillenwater (11.292/119.553) completed the top five on the speed charts.
