Loudon, N.H.– Rain didn’t seem to dampen Kyle Larson’s mood as he wins the opening stage of the Overtons 200 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

After a red flag that lasted more than hour due to weather, the Chip Ganassi Racing driver who was in the top three beforehand, came into the pits with 11 laps to go. He restarted in eleventh and made his way to the front for another stage win in the 2017 NASCAR XFINITY Series season.

Kyle Busch won the pole earlier in the afternoon and led the field to the green flag. He faded early in the run, giving Brad Keselowski the top spot for the majority of the first stage.

This weekend NHMS and NASCAR decided to try a new substance to help better the racing. PJ1 as it’s referred to, was laid on top of the third groove to give the drivers more options to try and race on the flat track.

Finishing the stage in second is NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour series regular, Ryan Preece. Preece won the all-star event for the NWMTS the day before at the track.

Busch finishes the stage in third with Elliott Sadler and Keselowski rounding out the rest of the top five.

Justin Allgaier, Brendan Poole, Ty Dillon, William Bryon and Matt Tifft complete the rest of the top-10.
