October 21, 2013 — By Jacob Seelman for Speed77 Radio and Race Chaser Online — Hendersonville, NC — UARA fans, you’ve got a championship battle after all.

And young gun Garrett Campbell ensured that with a dominant win in Saturday night’s FLUIDYNE 150 presented by Ultra Cool Brake Fans at Tri-County Speedway. After winning the Sunoco Pole Award and staging a furious 15-lap battle with former NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Steve Wallace and UARA points leader Dillon Bassett, Campbell surged to the front of the field and never looked back, despite a late race spin by Ronnie Bassett Jr. that produced a thrilling green-white-checkered finish.

“I don’t like winning a race in the last five laps; I like to dominate,” said Campbell in Victory Lane. “That’s what we strive for in the shop during the week and it paid off tonight.”

When asked about the final restart, Campbell said he had a plan from the start.

“I knew that on that last restart, I had to take the high side to keep the momentum going.  I knew that if I took the high side, Dillon (Bassett) couldn’t get the drive off that I had.  He got into me some, but that was expected.  All in all it was a great night and I can’t thank my team enough.”

Steve Wallace ultimately hung on to finish runner-up, with Dillon Bassett, defending UARA champion Travis Swaim and young rising star Brandon Jones completing the top five finishers.

The race was slowed six times by caution, including a red flag at Lap 109 caused by a multi-car pileup in Turn 4 on Lap 109 that collected the machines of Grant Wimbish, Chandler LeVan, Dylan Hall and Dan Moore.

UARA Rookie of the Year leader Garrett Jones was bitten by problems early in the going Saturday night, and ended up with a DNF.  Jones who qualified in the top ten, was running mid-pack when he lost a right front wheel bearing, and ultimately was scored in 20th at the conclusion of the event.

The UARA-STARS will be in action this Saturday, October 26th, at Anderson Motor Speedway for Race 13 of the 2013 season, and as of now, the scheduled season finale.
