Tommy Good topped the 20-lap Bandolero Outlaws feature for his second win of the summer, topping points leader Matthew Davey in a hotly-contested event that shuffled the points standings entering the final night of competition.
Good leapfrogged D.J. Canipe to move to second in points, eight back of Davey, while Davey sets himself up to only need a top five result to secure the title.
Tristan Lesik made a late-race charge to finish third, followed by Canipe and Isaak Love.
Cameron Bolin’s third Bandolero Bandits feature win of the summer muddied the points race in that class, with a historic three-way tie for the points lead entering the final night of competition marking the closest battle in Summer Shootout history.
As far as the race went, Bolin was never challenged, holding off the field on several restarts and leading all 20 laps en route to victory.
His title rivals, Bryson Ruff and Josh Kossek, finished second and third, respectively. Kossek will be credited with the points lead entering the final night of competition thanks to the tiebreaker rule.
Caden Kvapil won the Beginner Bandolero feature after original winner Grant Thompson was disqualified for a gasket issue in post-race technical inspection.
Thompson led all 20 laps of the event, but was relegated to last in the official rundown.
The 23rd annual Bojangles’ Summer Shootout concludes on Tuesday, Aug. 2 with round 10 of 10 in the summer series for Legends Cars and Bandoleros.
