LONG POND, PA — report by Managing Editor Jacob Seelman for Race Chaser Online — ARCA photo — After Friday afternoon, young Kyle Larson can start looking at the possibility of a clean sweep in the Pennsylvania Mountains.

Larson won the Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell Friday afternoon and will start up front for Saturday’s Pocono ARCA 200 after pacing the lone practice session earlier in the day. Larson clocked a fast lap of 53.106 seconds (169.472 mph) to earn the pole, the first of his ARCA career.

The 21-year-old NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standout for Chip Ganassi Racing will race on Saturday in the Target No. 4 Chevrolet for Turner Scott Motorsports and will be searching for his first career ARCA victory while also gaining valuable track time for Sunday’s Cup event.

Veteran and former ARCA winner Brennan Poole, subbing for John Wes Townley in the Venturini Motorsports No. 15, qualified second with a lap of 53.223 seconds (169.100 mph). Due to the driver change, Townley will drop to the rear for the start of tomorrow’s event.

Rookie Justin Allison, Mason Mitchell and fellow rookie Austin Self completed the top five starters.

10-time and defending champion Frank Kimmel will start sixth. Kimmel is a three-time ARCA winner at Pocono, most recently in 2006.

The Pocono ARCA 200 takes the green flag Saturday afternoon at 1 PM Eastern, with live TV coverage on FOX Sports 1.
