DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — official release — Jerry Solomito, the crew chief for the No. 75 team that competes in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, has been penalized for rules violations committed during practice June 6 at Stafford Motor Speedway.

The infraction is a P3 level penalty and violates Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and Section 20D-2.3 (Improperly attached weight. Added weight must be securely bolted to the frame rail with a minimum of two (2), 3/8 inch diameter high quality bolts and painted white with the car number or team identification permanently legible on it.) of the 2014 rule book.

As a result, Solomito has been fined $500 and suspended from NASCAR until the fine is paid. The infraction was discovered during the practice session.
