VALE, N.C. – Officials from the Carolina No Bull Sprint Series have announced that Bill’s Premier Smokey Mountain Jerky Meats will become the new title sponsor for the winged sprint car tour as it enters its third season.
Bill’s Premier Smokey Mountain Jerky Meats takes over the reins of the series from Heintz Performance, which served as the CNBS entitlement sponsor in 2017 but will shift into an associate sponsorship role for the 2018 campaign.
Bill Silbermann, the owner of Bill’s Premier Smokey Mountain Jerkey Meats and a former racer in his own right, saw a host of positives when agreeing to the deal to come onboard with CNBS as its new title sponsor.
“I’m originally from Pennsylvania and a civil engineer by trade, but I ran non-winged sprint cars at Ascot Park and Manzanita (Speedway) back in the ‘80s and I’m just passionate about helping racers and making sprint car racing stronger as a whole,” said Silbermann, who also fields CNBS entries for drivers Chris Puskas and Dennis Lundy.
“I’m excited to jump onboard and be part of a series that’s building into something that I really see as being great for the region,” Silbermann added. “Last year I donated a former car of mine for use as a pace car with the tour, and when Kris (Conyers) and Gary (Troutman) came to me with the idea of growing that association for this year it just felt right. I’m glad to help them continue to expand the series and look forward to seeing it grow through the coming year.”
“The Carolina No Bull Sprint Series has come a long way in its two years of existence,” said series principal Gary Troutman. “With the addition of Bill Silbermann, being able to add a major sponsorship and showcase his logo, we will be enhanced to help take sprint car racing in the Carolinas to the next level.”
Alongside Bill’s Premier Smokey Mountain Jerky Meats and Heintz Performance, Caring4-vets.com, Moss Racing Engines, Collette’s T-Shirt & Vinyl, and MB3 Motorsports will all serve as sponsors of the tour during its 2018 schedule.
The CNBS season kicks off with a doubleheader weekend split between Traveler’s Rest (S.C.) Speedway and Harris (N.C.) Speedway on May 18-19. The series will also visit North Carolina’s Friendship Speedway and South Carolina’s Cherokee Speedway during the year as well.
In addition to the new title sponsorship, CNBS officials also unveiled a new purse structure this week, boosting their race payouts from $500 to win and $100 to start up to a minimum of $700 to win and $150 to start for all their events this year.
