Devin Jones has signed with ALARA Racing for the 2015 SCCA Pro Racing Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich Tires race series season. Together Jones and ALARA Racing are looking to clinch the team’s third consecutive series championship.

“We selected ALARA Racing for its outstanding performance year after year. Their team expertise in the Mazda MX-5 Cup series is second to none,” said Jones. “We had the opportunity to race with them in their inaugural run in the IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at Daytona and we were very impressed by the depth of the team knowledge and its passion for Mazdas. We are looking forward to a very successful year together as we tackle 2015 with an eye towards the big championship prize.”

“Devin is showing a lot of promise in pre-season testing. He has taken his solid debut performance last year as a rookie to the next level,” said Ara Malkhassian, ALARA Racing team principal. “He continues to hone his road-racing skills after a strong career in oval racing. Our technical team is impressed with his ability to communicate and willingness to learn. He is developing into a strong driver with serious championship potential.”

Jones will be racing again in 2015 for primary sponsor, VeriStor, a leading IT solutions provider specializing in storage and virtual infrastructure and cloud services. Jones will also be racing in support of the Avista Multiple Sclerosis Education Foundation, a charitable organization with a charter to help people more quickly identify, diagnose and treat Multiple Sclerosis to make living with MS easier for both patients and their caregivers.

Jones has experience in many different forms of racing ranging from NASCAR, and short track late model races, to open wheel and sports car road racing events including the 2015 IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at Daytona. Last season Jones was a leading rookie contender in the Mazda MX-5 Cup series Presented by BFGoodrich Tires.

Jones’ first 2015 race in the SCCA Pro Racing Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich Tires series will be on March 18-20 at Sebring International Raceway in conjunction with the 63rd Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida.
