A 45-race slate spanning some of the raciest and most historic dirt tracks in the country was announced Thursday during the PRI Trade Show as the 2015 schedule for the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series.
The year will kick off in traditional fashion with the sixth annual “Winter Dirt Games” in February, with a trio of races planned at both Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Fla.) and East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Fla.).
The traditional Midwest portion of the schedule will then begin April 4 with a run at the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Indiana, with races also being held during the month at Bloomington Speedway (April 17), Tri-State Speedway (April 18), and a tripleheader weekend from April 24-26 at Eagle Raceway, Junction Motor Speedway and Lakeside Speedway.
The month of May kicks off at one of the most historic tracks on the schedule, Eldora Speedway, with a doubleheader in Ohio on May 8 and 9 before moving to Gas City I-69 Speedway on May 15 (the series has a TBA date set for May 16). Then, one of the legendary events on the calendar closes the month of May, the “Tony Hulman Classic” at the Terre Haute Action Track on May 20.
June storms in with the “Eastern Invasion”, five races in six nights from June 2-7 kicking off at Grandview (Pa.) Speedway, heading to historic tracks including Lincoln (Pa.), New Egypt (N.J.) and Port Royal (Pa.) Speedways before wrapping it up at the Susquehanna (Pa.) Speedway Park at the end of the week.
From there, the series gets a month off to prepare for the biggest run of all — the legendary Indiana Sprint Week — which carries a title within the season-long points race. ISW kicks off at Gas City on July 10 and this year makes stops at Kokomo Speedway, Lawrenceburg, Terre Haute, Lincoln Park Speedway and Bloomington before crowning the ISW champion at Tri-State Speedway on July 18.
A couple weeks to recover will be well received before the sprint car warriors return to action August 7-9 in the state of Wisconsin, with a tripleheader run at AMSOIL Speedway, Cedar Lake Speedway and historic Angell Park Speedway on the docket. The series also has plans for the Fourth Annual Sprint Car Smackdown at Kokomo Speedway on the schedule following the Angell Park date, however the final dates for that three-day weekend will be released at a later point.
The Haubstadt Hustler at Tri-State (Sept. 12) and the Four Crown Nationals (Sept. 26) at Eldora Speedway highlight the month of September before the Fall Nationals at Lawrenceburg on October 3 set up a month long break before the season-ending stretch run.
That stretch run comes in the form of the expanded Budweiser Oval Nationals from Nov. 12-14 at Perris Auto Speedway and the Western World Championships, which officially close the calendar and will crown a USAC National Sprint Car champion once again at USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona Nov. 19-21.
