ANDERSON, Ind. — Saturday’s Anderson Speedway program, featuring the Must See Racing Sprint Car Series in a 50-lap main event, has been cancelled due to inclement weather forecasts.

Based on a forecast that predicts rain and thunderstorms from Friday afternoon through the Saturday event date, MSR and Anderson Speedway jointly made the cancellation decision in the best interest of the fans and racers, rather than ignore the weather risk and forecast of probable rain throughout the weekend.

The race was scheduled to be the second of two Anderson race dates for the series in 2016, and will not be made up.

“Our commitment is to provide fans with first class racing entertainment and a timely-run event,” said MSR President Jim Hanks. “Whenever possible, we also try to avoid unnecessary and avoidable lost time and travel expenses for both our race teams and our valued fans.”

“This early decision, while difficult and disappointing, is our genuine best effort to do the right thing for all parties involved. While the event will not be rescheduled this year, we look forward to continuing our long tradition of events at Anderson Speedway in 2017.”

Chris Neuenschwander was the winner of the earlier Anderson Speedway race date for MSR this season, leading every lap of the Ivy Tech 60 presented by Sam Pierce Chevrolet for his first career series win.
