COLUMBUS, Miss. — Report by Race Chaser Online Managing Editor Jacob Seelman —

Due to an unfavorable weather forecast and already saturated facilities at the Magnolia Motor Speedway, the seventh annual Frostbuster 250 presented by Carl Hogan Toyota — scheduled for March 6-7 — has been cancelled.

The event was slated to be the season-opening race for the United Sprint Car Series filtercharged by K&N, USCS www.rockauto.com 600 Sprint Series and USCS K&N Filters Outlaw Modified Series.

The cancellation comes as a result of oversaturation of the race track from previous weather systems over the last week, making the track unsuitable for preparation, as well as a forecast for rain, sleet, ice and frigid temperatures in the area on Wednesday night and Thursday that will further preclude any track preparation.

The event has been rescheduled for Friday, May 29, during the annual USCS Mid-South Speedweek.

The USCS 600 mini-sprints and outlaw modifieds will now open their 2015 schedules on March 13-14 at the Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, Tennessee, while the USCS 360 drivers will chase their first points of the year at the Toccoa Speedway in Georgia on March 27-28.
