Ashton Higgins (Outlaws), Carson Kvapil (Bandits) and Jason Chapman (Beginner Bandolero) were winners of the postponed Round Nine features for the Bandolero classes, after rain hit the speedway on the first lap of the Outlaws feature Monday night.

Kvapil’s win was the most dramatic of the three, as the son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star Travis Kvapil dove three-wide underneath Cameron Bolin and Daniel Wilk coming off of turn four on the final lap. Kvapil then drag-raced Wilk to the line, taking the victory by 0.117 seconds for his first career LiveWell Homes Bandits division victory at the Shootout.

“I don’t know how we made it happen,” Kvapil admitted. “I was just hoping coming off turn four that I was going to have enough momentum to beat them to the line and I did.’

Higgins scored his sixth win in nine races in the Outlaws division after he passed Trevor Rizzo on lap six and never looked back. Rizzo, Matthew Davey and Connor Younginer all led laps during the first third of the main event, but they were no match for the points leader, who drove away from the field in the closing stages.

Chapman dominated the Beginner Bandolero main event, leading 11 of the 15 laps after passing Bryce Baily on lap five and going on to win over Parker Eatmon and Trevor Wester at the twin checkers.

Champion’s Night for the 2015 Bojangles’ Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway officially begins with qualifying and heat races at 5 p.m., followed by the Round 10 finale features for seven divisions of Legends Cars and Bandoleros beginning at 7 p.m.
