CONCORD, N.C. — Shark Racing officials have confirmed that Ohio sprint car legend Jac Haudenschild will substitute for Jacob Allen during this weekend’s Bad Boy Off Road World of Outlaws World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte.

Haudenschild takes the reins of the No. 1A for an ailing Allen, who is battling a bout of the flu and “is so sick he can’t even get out of bed,” according to multiple crew members in the Shark pit area who spoke to Race Chaser Online on Thursday afternoon.

Allen entered World Finals weekend at Charlotte 12th in the season-long World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series driver point standings, with two top-fives and 10 top-10s to his credit this year.

Haudenschild has run a myriad of races between the Arctic Cat All Stars Circuit of Champions and the Ohio Sprint Car Series, scoring seven total feature victories to date this year, including two All Stars wins at Wayne County Speedway in April and at Eldora Speedway during Ohio Sprint Week in June.

Should Haudenschild qualify for both features during Thursday night’s preliminary program, the A-Mains would mark his sixth and seventh Outlaws A-Main appearances this year.

The 58-year-old veteran’s most recent Outlaws start came during the Night BeFour The Crowns program at Eldora on Sept. 23, when he finished 24th.

Haudenschild has an Outlaws season-best of third, which came during the opening night of the Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California on Sept. 9.

Opening ceremonies for the Bad Boy Off Road World Finals kick off at 6 p.m.
