ELMA, Wash. — Report by Race Chaser Online Managing Editor Jacob Seelman — Chris Seelman photo —

Over the past 18 years, Donny Schatz has established himself as the most elite sprint car driver in the modern era of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.

That point was further cemented on Monday night, when — after a career that includes six series championships — Schatz racked up his 200th career points-paying WoO feature victory in thrilling fashion at the Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash.

Schatz has won races in every WoO season dating back to his sophomore campaign in 1998, a span of 17 consecutive years.

Only two drivers — ‘King’ Steve Kinser (577) and Slammin’ Sammy Swindell (294) — have accrued more wins on the Outlaws trail than Schatz, and with two consecutive seasons of 26 wins or more on the tour, and Schatz only being 38 years old, Swindell’s mark (once thought unreachable) could well be in jeopardy before the North Dakota native hangs up his helmet.

Schatz will be looking for career win No. 201 on Wednesday night, Sept. 8 at Cottage Grove Speedway — the site of his very first Outlaws victory back in 1998 — but before he kicks off that quest, here’s a look at all 200 of Schatz’s wins from the first at Riverside Speedway to the most recent at Grays Harbor.

Of note, while Schatz has won the Knoxville Nationals in nine of the past 10 seasons, five of his Nationals wins (2006-2009, 2011) were not credited on the official World of Outlaws win list due to the split in sanctioning bodies between WoO and the rival National Sprint Tour back in 2006. The Knoxville Raceway sanctioned the Nationals under the track’s rulebook following the split, and continues to do so today, though the WoO label officially returned in 2012.

Congratulations on 200 wins, Donny. Here’s to the next two centuries, and chasing down two legends of the sport.
