ORLANDO, Fla. and CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Report by Race Chaser Online Managing Editor Jacob Seelman — USLCI photo —

With the scales shifting beyond halfway, the fight for supremacy is shifting into high gear at the Orlando Speedworld with the conclusion of Day Three of the INEX Winternationals.

A rain delay pushed the start of the scheduled program back several hours, but following track drying, a partial slate of feature action was able to be completed.

In Legends Car action, Chase Purdy was able to hold off Alex Reece for his second win of the week in the Young Lions class, while Christian Eckes continued to roll along with his third win in three days in Semi-Pro.

In Bandolero competition, Tyler Chapman notched his second win of the Winternationals in the Beginner Bandits class.

The remainder of the feature program had to be postponed after a crash in the Bandolero Bandits feature. According to witnesses at the scene, two cars got together in the corner and hooked together, washing up onto the unused portion of the banking (Bandoleros race on the flat of the race track at Orlando Speedworld). While trying to take evasive action during the incident, a track official was struck.

The official was awake and alert at the scene, according to reports, but was airlifted to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Race Chaser Online’s thoughts and prayers are with the track official, the drivers and all of those affected by the accident. More information will be passed along as released by Orlando Speedworld or U.S. Legend Cars International.

The remainder of Wednesday’s program will be completed on Thursday, according to the live broadcast on Speed Shift TV.
