CONCORD, N.C. — Story by Managing Editor Jacob Seelman for Race Chaser Online — On a night where weather was in the area all evening, several new winners graced Charlotte Motor Speedway Victory Lane during Round 7 of the 2014 Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series.

Tom Pistone kept his perfect streak alive in the Masters class despite a bounty being out for anyone who could beat him to the finish line and Carson Ferguson ran his streak to six out of seven on the year in the Young Lions division, however those two were not the stories of the night.

Kason Plott dominated the Pro class, leading every one of the 25 laps and holding off a furious charge from points leader Daniel Hemric over the final three laps to notch his first victory of the season and first Pro class win for Steven Ross Motorsports this Shootout, and then 18-year-old Josh Brimecombe, a longtime Shootout competitor who has raced the last several seasons in the Semi-Pro class, charged to the lead on a late-race green flag run and held it as lightning and heavy rain returned to the Speedway to grab his first-ever Shootout win in the rain-shortened Semi-Pro feature event.

Due to the weather, all Bandolero racing action was cancelled and will be made up during next week’s program.

A full report, including audio, will be released tomorrow on Race Chaser Online!
