NSCS: Weather Postpones Bank Of America 500 To Sunday At Noon ET

CONCORD, N.C.– With Hurricane Matthew drenching the East Coast and a more favorable forecast looming for Sunday, NASCAR has postponed the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway to Sunday at noon ET.

Television coverage for the event will remain on NBC, with the pre-race show set to kick off at 11 a.m. Radio coverage will air on the Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Lingering weather has been a headache for all of the NASCAR and CMS brass this weekend, as rain canceled all track activity on Friday and originally postponed the XFINITY Series’ Drive for the Cure 300 presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina to Sunday at 11 a.m. ET.

Now, the XFINITY event will begin 45 minutes following the conclusion of the Cup event on Sunday, with a tentative start time of 4:30 p.m. ET.

Once the skies clear and racing begins, Kevin Harvick and Alex Bowman will lead the Sprint Cup field to green, based on Coors Light Pole Qualifying from Thursday night.
