Mother Nature is not cooperating at Michigan International Speedway.

For the third time in Sunday’s running of the Quicken Loans 400 (FS1, MRN, SiriusXM), NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams have been parked on pit road due to weather. A brief rain shower dampened MIS once again just as teams were wrapping up a scheduled competition caution period that began at lap 40.

The yellow brought all 42 teams on the lead lap down pit road for service, and shuffled the running order dramatically as Kevin Harvick and Dale Earnhardt Jr. assumed the top two spots, while Pocono winner Martin Truex Jr. was shuffled from second back to seventh after his team elected to wait on a little extra fuel to hit the tank of his No. 78 Furniture Row Chevrolet.

Early race leaders Carl Edwards and Kasey Kahne came off pit road fourth and fifth, respectively.

Jimmie Johnson rides 41st after his team used an extended pit stop to repair left rear damage to his No. 48 KOBALT Tools Chevrolet — sustained on a lap 29 restart after contact with Joey Logano’s Ford.

Alex Bowman is the only car out of the race — the No. 7 Chevrolet blew a tire on lap 24 after the second red flag was lifted and the sophomore Sprint Cup driver for Tommy Baldwin Racing elected to take his machine behind the pit wall before incurring further damage.

The red flag was called with 45 of the 200 scheduled laps complete, and NASCAR hopes for a quick drying period before teams resume action once again.

Below is a look at the full field rundown under the third red flag period of the day.
