After brother Kurt was fastest in the second round of practice at Charlotte Motor Speedway earlier this afternoon, Kyle Busch made it a clean sweep of the day’s events for the Busch brothers by being fastest in final practice for tomorrow’s Bank of America 500.

Kyle was the only driver to surpass the 189 mph mark, turning in a time of 28.518 seconds (189.354 mph). Kurt backed up his strong run in the second practice by being the second-quickest man in final practice (and the fastest Chevrolet) with a time of 28.572 seconds (188.996 mph).

Joey Logano was the fastest Ford for the second practice in a row, and was third-quickest on the charts in final practice with a time of 28.646 seconds (188.508 mph). He was followed by the Caterpillar Chevrolet of Ryan Newman (28.649 seconds; 188.488 mph) and the Nationwide Chevrolet of Dale Earnhardt Jr. (28.676 seconds; 188.311 mph).

Both Penske Racing machines found their way into the top six positions on the final practice chart, as Brad Keselowski posted a time of 28.697 seconds (188.173 mph) in his Detroit Genuine Parts Ford. The seventh-fastest time belonged to Jamie McMurray (28.714 seconds, 188.062 mph), who was the fastest non-Chase driver in final practice. McMurray also won the Bank of America 500 in 2010.

Carl Edwards (28.737 seconds; 187.911 mph), Casey Mears (28.767 seconds; 187.715 mph) and Denny Hamlin (28.775 seconds; 715 mph) completed the top 10. Of the 10 fastest drivers in final practice, eight have found victory lane in the Sprint Cup Series at Charlotte before.

A trio of Chase drivers fell just short of notching a top 10 time in final practice — Kevin Harvick (12th fastest with a lap of 28.778 seconds; 187.643 mph), Martin Truex Jr. (15th fastest with a lap of 28.822 seconds; 187.357 mph) and Jeff Gordon (16th fastest with a lap of 28.842 seconds; 187.227 mph). Matt Kenseth was the slowest of the Chase drivers in 25th (29,009 seconds; 186. 149 mph).

The green flag for tomorrow’s Bank of America 500 will fly at approx. 7 P.M.
