ROSSBURG, Ohio — Report by Race CHaser Online Managing Editor Jacob Seelman — Empire Racing Group photo —

The field for the third annual 1-800-CARCASH MudSummer Classic for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is set at Eldora Speedway.

Cody Erickson used a bold move through the middle of the front row to take the point on the opening lap of the 15-lap Last Chance Qualifier and never looked back, rolling on to claim the LCQ victory and lock himself into the 150-lap main event. He will start 26th.

Along with Erickson, second-place finisher Ben Kennedy punched his ticket to the big show, fighting with Erickson for the win right down to the end. Kennedy’s Red Horse Racing No. 11 will roll from 27th on the grid.

Travis Kvapil finished third ahead of a hard-charging Jake Griffin, who needed to finish in one of the two transfer spots in order to race by virtue of not having enough owner points in the standings to use a provisional. Griffin started from the back and came forward, but finished two spots short.

Both Griffin and Madeline Crane failed to make the MudSummer Classic. Crane clobbered the wall in qualifying and the No. 80 team did not run the Last Chance Race, citing too much damage from a subsequent heat race crash to repair.

Kvapil, Jennifer Jo Cobb, Jody Knowles, Stewart Hayward and Wendell Chavous received owner points provisionals and will start in positions 28-32, respectively.

The green flag for the 1-800-CARCASH MudSummer Classic drops shorty after 9 p.m. ET, live on FOX Sports 1. NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Darrell Wallace Jr. is the defending winner of the race.
