For the third time this season, NASCAR saw their Sunday afternoon affair delayed, and this time, ultimately postponed, following persistent rain that plagued the Fort Worth area throughout the day. The Duck Commander 500 from Texas Motor Speedway, originally slated for 3 PM ET Sunday afternoon, will now take the green flag on Monday at noon Eastern, 11 AM Central, with live coverage on FOX.

Cold temperatures and damp air slowed track drying despite a fleet of five Toyota Tundra Air Titan 2.0’s that were on hand to assist with the drying effort.

NASCAR Executive Vice President for Racing Operations Steve O’Donnell also added on Twitter that “weepers” from underneath the track surface stalled the drying process.

Tony Stewart won the Coors Light Pole Award on Saturday and will lead the field to the green flag alongside Brad Keselowski. Stewart’s SHR teammate Kevin Harvick will start third after smashing the track record during the first qualifying session on Saturday.
