HOLLY, Mich. – The Must See Racing Sprint Car Series is set for one of their biggest weekends of the season, with the homeland for series title sponsor Engine Pro playing host to the annual Engine Pro Fast Car Slash at Berlin Raceway on Aug. 19.
Race 10 on the calendar see the winged warriors tackling the .4375-mile Berlin Raceway, a staple venue for the series, appearing on every season calendar at least once with the exception of MSR’s inaugural season in 2010.
This year’s Fast Car Slash will mark the ninth time Must See Racing has competed at the Marne facility, and will be televised nationally on Suzuki Presents SPEED SPORT, as announced Wednesday.
The MAVTV broadcast of the Fast Car Slash will air at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. ET on Thursday, Sept. 7.
In the seven prior MSR features held at Berlin, five different winners have visited victory lane, including Jason Blonde this past May.
Last year’s Fast Car Slash was rained out, meaning Brian Gerster enters as the defending winner of the event, having won the race in 2015.
Saturday’s format will see a standard format of hot laps, two-lap time trials, eight lap heat races, a B-Main (if necessary) and the 30 lap A-Main run as normal, but with the addition of the Fast Car Slash.
The eight-lap sprint will provide an extra twist in determining the feature lineup. The driver who sets quick time in qualifying will roll a die to determine whether the fastest six or eight drivers will compete in the Slash. Eligible drivers must be among the five transfers out of their respective heat race, and any holes following the heats will be filled by the next-fastest driver(s) from qualifying.
Once the green flag drops on the Fast Car Slash, drivers will look to pass the field en route to victory and a $300 bonus, with any driver who is passed on-track in the Slash eliminated and slotted into the starting grid based on their order of elimination.
All drivers who survive elimination will line up for the feature based on their finishing order from the Fast Car Slash, with eliminated drivers following behind them.
The event is always a fan-favorite when the MSR field hits the track at Berlin, and will no doubt provide some of the most intense action of the night during the Berlin program.

We’re looking forward to seeing who can survive the Slash and start up front on Saturday night!”
In addition to the Must See Racing sprint cars, the Berlin Raceway super late models will run twin 35-lap features, with modifieds and super stocks also on the racing card.
Pit gates on Saturday at Berlin open at 1:30 p.m., with hot laps hitting the track at 3 p.m. and qualifying for the Must See Racing sprint cars and the super late models to follow.
An autograph session is scheduled for 5:30 and racing kicks off at 6:30.
