FONATA, Calif– Following qualifying for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series at Auto Club Speedway, NASCAR announced penalties following failures in pre-qualifying inspection.
The teams involved with the penalties include, the No.6 and driver Trevor Bayne who failed the Laser Inspection Station twice. The No.22 of Joey Logano, No.23 of Gray Gaulding and No.32 of Matt DiDenedetto all failed a station in the inspection process. The No.38 of David Ragan failed with having no transmission/gear seal.
As a result, all teams will lose 15 minutes of practice time during the opening practice Saturday morning.
If any further penalties are needed, they will be announced by NASCAR later next week.
