TULSA, Okla. – Sammy Swindell, the all-time leading winner in Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals history with five victories, headlines the entry list for Wednesday’s Hard Rock Casino Qualifying Night at Tulsa Expo Raceway.
Swindell, whose five Chili Bowl wins have come for five different car owners, will look to add a record-extending sixth triumph to his resume in the No. 1 John Christner Trucking Spike/Stanton SR-11 entry.
Two-time Chili Bowl winner Rico Abreu returns to Tulsa in search of his third Golden Driller with Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports, driving his familiar No. 97 Bullet/Toyota. He’ll be joined by teammate Holley Hollan, who takes over the No. 67K from Holly Shelton this year.
Former USAC sprint car and Silver Crown champion Chris Windom leads the charge for Clauson-Marshall Racing on Wednesday in the No. 17, joined by teammate Cole Bodine, who is racing in this year’s Chili Bowl thanks to the Tony Elliott Foundation Chili Bowl Scholarship.
Two NASCAR stars will be a part of the proceedings on Wednesday, with J.J. Yeley taking the wheel of the No. 2J Bullet/Toyota machine and Landon Cassill attempting his Chili Bowl debut in the No. 21X Rockwell Security entry for Casey and Brooke Shuman.
Also represented in Wednesday’s field will be the IndyCar Series, with Conor Daly continuing his recent adventures on the dirt by making his first Chili Bowl appearance in the No. 22C for Jody Rosenboom.
Other notable names in Wednesday’s 73-car entry pool include 2006 Chili Bowl winner Tim McCreadie, United Kingdom native Tom Harris, 2006 Turkey Night Grand Prix winner Billy Wease, World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series regulars Shane Stewart and David Gravel and three-time Rumble in Fort Wayne midget winner Justin Peck.
The top-two finishers from the 25-lap preliminary A-main will be locked into the finale and will also participate in the pole shuffle that will set the first five rows of the starting grid.
