ANDERSON, Ind. — Chris Neuenschwander, the most recent Must See Racing Sprint Car Series winner at Anderson Speedway’s quarter-mile bullring, led the way during first practice for Intersect Night at the Races on Saturday.

Neuenschwander laid down a fast lap of 11.016 seconds (81.699 mph) in the No. 10 Pro Strip/NAPA Auto Parts machine for Koehler Motorsports, as he seeks to defend his Ivy Tech 60 win at Anderson from last May.

“It felt good; certainly we know we have a good baseline any time we come here,” Neuenschwander said. “Hopefully we can keep it going into the race tonight. I’d like to get another win.”

Brian Gerster, a four-time fast qualifier this season, took Dick Myers’ Mopar-powered No. 50m to second on the speed charts with a lap of 11.153 seconds (80.696 mph).

Gerster is the all-time qualifying leader with Must See Racing, but has never won an MSR feature at Anderson.

Four-time Anderson winner and two-time defending series champion Jimmy McCune was third-quick in the opening practice, with a time of 11.224 seconds (80.185 mph) in the No. 88 Abe’s Auto Parts & Sales/B&B Machinery Movers/Rev-X Oil mount.

McCune enters Anderson with a 77-point lead in the championship standings.

Brian Vaughn and Tom Jewell completed the Fast Five.

Charlie Schultz was sixth ahead of defending Kenyon Midget champion Dameron Taylor, Doug Dietsch, Anthony McCune and Christian Koehler.

Final practice for the Must See Racing Sprint Car Series at Anderson Speedway kicks off at 6 p.m.
