After coming into the season by winning two of the first three Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, races of the season, things have taken a drastic turn for the worse for RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy Johns/Suzuki Factory Racing rider Ken Roczen.

The talented young German will miss Saturday night’s Daytona Supercross presented by Honda after re-injuring his left ankle in Saturday’s opening 450 class practice at the Daytona International Speedway.

RCH Racing confirmed following the crash that Roczen would not be able to compete in the tenth race of the Supercross season. The incident is the third major issue that Roczen has encountered in the 2015 Supercross season, following a violent incident in round four at Oakland where Roczen’s head slammed the bars of his bike and his initial ankle injury just over a week ago.

“Well, I did exactly what i wasn’t (supposed) to do,” Roczen said Saturday, speaking on Instagram after the incident. “(It’s) kind of hard when you want to race but can’t put your foot down. It happened and it didn’t feel great. Even if it was only a couple laps I had a lot of fun on my bike and track. Love the support from all my people, fans and friends.”

Roczen entered Saturday ranked third in Supercross points.
