Ryan Vaughn’s 10th career =RSR= Full Throttle Cup Series start did not go according to plan, after the RaDiUs Motorsports driver looped his No. 28 Race Chaser Online Chevrolet twice during Monday night’s Bluegrass Brawl at Kentucky Speedway and was relegated to the garage area as a result.

The DNF left the Birmingham, Ala. sim-racer with a 32nd place finish, 83 laps down at the checkered flag, and was a second tough blow in two races for the FTCS rookie competitor after a crash at Daytona International Speedway on July 13.

“It’s really disappointing to have to end up in the garage are after just 42 laps,” Vaughn said. “I knew that coming back to Real Sim Racing was going to be a challenge, but this has been a struggle and a major re-learning curve over the past two weeks.”

Vaughn both practiced and qualified 27th fastest, saying that his car lacked speed early in the night at the bumpy 1.5-mile track in the Bluegrass State, but was running solidly before his troubles began.

“We never could get a handle on it in practice or qualifying but the car raced great,” Vaughn added. “We were able to pass cars and pick them off little by little. We just couldnt get out of the mess [of traffic] to see where we could consistently put the car so that it ran well and could possibly nab a good finish.”

“We are gonna get better and we are gonna start making some noise soon. That I can promise you.”

Vaughn will return to the seat next week at Indianapolis, when the =RSR= Full Throttle Cup Series takes to the historic 2.5-mile oval for the Battle at the Brickyard. The event is round three of the four-race Real Deal Grafix Challenge.
