Anthony DeBaro will be paying tribute to one of his racing heroes during Monday night’s =RSR= Full Throttle Cup Series stop at Darlington Raceway, unveiling a one-race sponsorship deal from Coors and Melling Select Performance as part of Darlington’s “The Tradition Returns” initiative.

DeBaro’s No. 9 Chevrolet will replicate Elliott’s record-breaking 1985 NASCAR premier series car that made up two full laps under green to win at Talladega, as he searches for his second series win and bonus points heading into the Chase for the Full Throttle Cup.

“This is a special race for all of us that are fans of NASCAR and to have =RSR= have their race on Monday leading into Labor Day weekend meant that this was the perfect time to travel back in time, if you will,” DeBaro said. “Bill Elliott was one of the best drivers of his era and an inspiration to a lot of fans and drivers today, including myself.”

“I’m hoping we can put this throwback scheme in victory lane — it would be a cool deal to see. Special thanks to Speed77 Radio for allowing us to do this throwback deal, it’s great to have sponsors that do as much for this team as they do.”

DeBaro currently sits 10th on the Chase Grid with two races before the 10-race stretch run to crown a champion begins.
