A father/son pair with a famous last name — 1991 Daytona 500 champion Ernie Irvan and son Jared, an accomplished Legends car racer at the Bojangles’ Summer Shootout — highlights Motorsports Madness’ live coverage from the Charlotte Motor Speedway in preparation for Round Eight of the ten-race summer series.

The broadcast kicks off beginning tonight at 7 p.m. Eastern time on the Performance Motorsports Network.

Co-hosts Jacob Seelman and Tom Baker will talk with the pair about their respective careers, as well as look inside the younger Irvan’s shot at a Summer Shootout championship in the Pro class as the season reaches its final three races. The crew will also break down the pretenders and contenders in points across the six divisions entering the final two weeks of racing.

Additional topics of discussion will include Kyle Busch’s seemingly unstoppable run of momentum after his third win in the past four Sprint Cup races on Sunday at Loudon, Denny Hamlin’s rough driving road that led to an XFINITY Series victory, and who is in danger of being knocked out of the Chase Grid with just seven races remaining in the NASCAR regular season.

Joel Sebastianelli will also stop by to discuss IndyCar’s American resurgence in Iowa and Ryan Hunter-Reay’s breakthrough victory, and James Pike will hash out his thoughts on the NASCAR grind in New England and Marcos Ambrose’s chances of remaining in V8 Supercars beyond 2015.
