American rookie Alexander Rossi, who lost his Formula 1 ride with Manor Racing just weeks before the start of the 2016 season and was subsequently picked up for a full-time collaborative IndyCar effort between Bryan Herta and Michael Andretti, stretched his fuel as far as it could go and ran out crossing the finish line to triumph in the historic 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday.
