SAPULPA, Okla. — Report by Race Chaser Online Managing Editor Jacob Seelman — Mike Spivey photo —

The hometown hero struck during round two of the USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series Freedom Tour on Thursday night at Creek County Speedway.

Sapulpa, Okla. young gun Blake Hahn came storming to the inside of defending USAC National Sprint Car Series champion Brady Bacon with two laps to go and made the pass stick, leading only laps 29 and 30 en route to his first career USAC victory at his home race track.

Andrew Deal led the opening circuit before Bacon came calling, setting a torrid pace through the majority of the main event. Despite that, however, Hahn lurked quietly inside the top five for most of the first half before charging to the front late in the going. After he got around Bacon with two to go, the driver of the No. 52 Lucas Oil mount never looked back as he sealed the deal.

Ryan Bernal also got around Bacon in the final laps to take the runner-up position, with Casey Shuman and Deal making up the balance of the top five.

Bernal, Deal, Shuman and Bacon all won their respective heat races to kick off the night, while Charles Davis Jr. claimed the semi-feature win to lead the transfers into the main event.

The next USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series race will be Round 3 of the Freedom Tour, on Friday, Aug. 21 at 81 Speedway.
