Founded in 1973, the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) was the first and is the only national advocacy organization committed to funding brain tumor research and providing information and education on all tumor types and all age groups.

For over 40 years, the ABTA has been providing comprehensive resources that support the complex needs of brain tumor patients and caregivers, as well as the critical funding of research in the pursuit of breakthroughs in brain tumor diagnosis, treatment and care.

“There’s over 700,000 people in the U.S. alone right now, so it’s about bringing awareness to that and hoping to bring change,” Tifft explained. “It’s been great working with them already and I’m sure we’ll continue this partnership for years to come.”

T-shirts promoting Tifft’s partnership with the ABTA, with all proceeds going to benefit the cause, are available for sale online through the Matt Tifft Racing Facebook page or by visiting www.matttifftracing.com.

But just because the ABTA sponsorship was, for now, a one-race agreement, it doesn’t mean Tifft’s season is over. The NASCAR Next class member confirmed that his journey is only now truly beginning.

“We’ve got Texas and Homestead to finish off the season (in the XFINITY car) and I’m actually running the rest of the Truck schedule (for Red Horse Racing), so I’ve got a lot going on, which is great. I think the way it amounts out to, we’ll have more races at the end of the year than we had at the beginning of the year, which is great. I didn’t know if that was going to happen or not, so it’s pretty cool to end on such a high note … as far as being able to be at the track and racing.”

Through it all, Tifft has been steadfast and patient … and he knows not to take any of the moments he has for granted.

“It’s all been a process, one step at a time. I’m just grateful to be back … thankful for every chance I get now.”
